Biography[]

A graduate of Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Colin Egglesfield was born on February 9, 1973 in Farmington Hills, Michigan to William and Kathleen Egglesfield. Spending the first ten years of his life in the metropolitan Detroit area, he, his two siblings and his parents moved to Crete, Illinois, south of Chicago.

As a child he preferred studying and staying at home making model airplanes rather than going out. His dream was to become a doctor like his father but he grew interested in the arts while seeing his sister Kerry perform. Colin was rather introverted as a young teen but developed a greater sense of self-esteem from his prep football coach and went on to the University of Iowa's pre-medical school, where he received a Bachelor of Science. He then decided to backpack through Europe where he turned to modelling to gain enough money to continue paying for medical school.

Career[]

Colin first gained recognition in the modelling world when he signed with DNA Model Management in New York and Beatrice Model Agency in Milan Italy leading him to a successful career modelling for such designers as Calvin Klein, Armani and Versace. He then took acting classes and guest starred on various television shows Law and Order: SVU and Gilmore Girls. In 2005, he appeared in both the film Must Love Dogs' and made his début as Josh Madden on ABC's All My Children. He also appeared in various movies with minor roles before landing a role on the remake of Melrose Place in 2009 but when the show went in a different direction, Colin was written out of the series. Currently, Colin can be seen in the 2011 film, Something Borrowed.
