"Grimm" debuted last night. The first episode was awesome. It's like the new Charmed - The Grimms are a family of warriors descended from the Brother's Grimm - the writers of the Grimm Fairy Tales - that have the power to see the true identities of beasts and demons disguised as humans. There is a book with various sketches and information about evil beings that the family has encountered. The fairy tales they wrote were actually accounts of events and situation encounter and the beasts and evil beings found in the tales are actually demonic creatures that hunt and kill humans. When they attack they turn into their beast forms but as soon as they are killed they transform back into human state.

Below is pics of Nick, the Weider Blutbaden and the Hexenbiest and Nick's evil boss, Captain Renard.

In the first episode, a detective, Nick, discovers he is one of the last Grimms destined to hunt evil creatures from his aunt Marie. While they were discussing the situation they were attacked by a beast and the aunt wound up in a coma. Then a college girl, wearing a red hooded sweater (reminiscent of Little Red Riding Hood) was jogging in the woods and was attacked by a man - a wolf, known as the Blutbaden- and was torn into pieces then a little girl, wearing a red sweater, on the way home was abducted by the man. He took her to his home in the woods where he took off her sweater and placed it in a closet full of other red hooded sweaters. The detectives however saved the girl and killed the Blutbaden. In the end, a nurse, who is a "Hextawaffen" (make have spelled it wrong) tried to kill the detective and his aunt but he stopped her and it turns out his boss at the police department works with the Hextawaffen as well.

Entry on the Blutbaden:

Blutbad (pl. Blutbaden)
Wolf-like creatures.
They have an
incredible sense
of smell that can only be weakened
by a herb called
wolf'sbane.

Blutbaden are often
violent in packs,
especially when
they see red.
Their physical
weak spot is
on their lower
back, an area of the lumbar
vertebrae with a
cluster of nerves. In between kills,
Blutbaden fatten up their victims
because they typically go a week
between meals.

A Weider Blutbaden is a reformed
Blutbad of a different
church. The Weider Blutbaden
stay reformed through a
strict regime of diet, drugs,
and exercise, whereas
normal Blutbaden give in to
their animalistic impulses
and live on the wild side.
